FUTURE EVENTS
Stay tuned for Spring and Summer events!
“I hope you can join me this winter as we experience the beauty of SNOW SEASON WITH NEW FRIENDS.”
The Women’s Snowshoe Series hikes will be all ability and no drop! Hikes will all be located in the Saddleback area including trails at the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center (pass required), the Uphill Trail at Saddleback Mountain (pass required), the Saddleback Spur of the Fly Rod Crosby Trail (including Rock/Midway Pond).
Each location will provide different terrain, views, and obstacles. There will be something for everyone! Fly Rod Crosby/Rock and Midway Pond Trails will be shorter with some hilly terrain, Rangeley Lakes Trails Center will be a little longer but not strenuous terrain, the Saddleback Uphill Trail will be a nice prize for anyone looking to challenge themselves with some steeper terrain. The goal is to get outside during everyone’s least favorite season and encourage each other to appreciate the beauty of nature and each other’s company.
The dates currently have time and location TBA due to not being entirely sure what weather and conditions will be like on the day. I will have a better idea a week before each scheduled hike and will post trip information as soon as possible. Two of the six days will be snowshoeing the Uphill Trail at Saddleback, a Saddleback trail pass and waiver must be purchased and signed at Saddleback Lodge before we head out. Two of the days will be exploring different snowshoe loops at the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center, a day pass and waiver must be purchased and signed at the RLTC Yurt before we head out. Two days will be spent exploring the trails along Rock Pond and Midway Pond.
Snowshoes will be required for all trips, hiking poles are recommended for hillier terrain. Rentals can be provided with prior notification. Scheduled hike dates may be postponed if the weather or conditions don’t allow for adventuring. Each trip will be limited to 7 participants.
